Room 501, Friday Evening
Sam was IMing with Mikaela when another window popped up--from Bumblebee. The message was: Your phone is about to ring.
And it did.
"Hello, Sam," a deep, soothing, mechanical voice said.
"Hey, Optimus. What's up?"
"We have received indications that an Autobot has arrived in Maryland, not too far from your school." Sam was still not seeing what this had to do with him until Optimus continued, "And we have no other operatives in the area. I would appreciate it greatly if you would--"
"Give him the 'Welcome to Earth' speech?"
"Exactly."
"Sure, I can do that. Could take me a little while to get where I'm going without wheels."
"He will remain in his position until you arrive. I am sending you the coordinates now." His computer beeped.
"Got 'em. I'll take care of it. I won't let you down."
"I am sure you will perform admirably." Click.
Someday Sam was going to have to teach them about the human ritual of saying goodbye.
Sam left a note for Helen asking her to please make sure Mojo didn't die for a few days and headed out to go find the new guy.
